We arrived at Dave Olesen’s homestead today at around 2:20. It was rather cold in the morning, but it did warm up. It is now 10 below, which feels like Hawai’i. I’m actually outside right now, doing this recording. We’re staying in wood-heated cabins tonight. The four boys are in one cabin and Paul and Mille are in the other. Dave and his wife Christine live with their two children in a three-story log cabin.

We just had tea and are reminiscing. It’s about six o’clock. Dave’s got 34 dogs and we’ve got 31, so right now the dog population is over 60 here at the small little homestead. It’s kind of cloudy right now, with a few northern lights, and I can see Venus setting. I’ll report in tomorrow with a little more on Dave’s place. It’s really nice to have this reunion with Dave, as it’s been over 25 years since we’ve gotten together. I’ll check in tomorrow with more detail.
