Will\'s early adventures include a 3,000 mile kayak trip from southern Alberta to northern Alaska in 1964, and, in 1965, three first ascents by new routes of peaks over 18,900 feet in the Peruvian Andes. In 1969 he led a 4,000 mile kayak expedition on the

1965 - Climbing the Peruvian Andes mountains on an early mountain climbing expedition which was one of three first ascents by new routes of peaks over 18,900 feet.

1970 - Steger, working on the staff at Minnesota\'s Voyageur Outward Bound school, instructs students how to navigate across the steep cliffs of Palisades Head high above Lake Superior.

1967 - Rafting the MacKenzie River through Alaska.

1969 - Completing another run of a long kayak journey, Steger has clocked over 15,000 miles in his kayak, through Alaska, Canada and the U.S.
