We had a good day of travel today, covering about 27 miles. We’ve reached the community of Hall Beach. We will be staying in the community tonight. Very nice people, very beautiful, very small community. There used to be an American line station a few miles to the south of the town. We are very impressed with the cleanliness of the town and the friendliness of the people.

The travel was under clear skies, a very good trail, we had a main trail going all the way into town. It was clear, with just a little bit of clouds to the south. We had a very beautiful sunset around 10 p.m. We are almost in the land of midnight sun, in about another week we will have 24 hours of light.

The dogs are sleeping well, and we will be in Iglulik on Friday night. We will meet the airplane that is arriving around 4:30 p.m. Iglulik is about 50 miles north of Hall Beach, and is the cultural center of Nunavut.
