Temperature: 30 degrees

Location: Iglulik

This is our second full day in Iglulik. Some of the people in town are setting up interviews with the elders to talk about global climate change. We are going to be giving a presentation at the school, and doing a radio interview tomorrow night. We are going to be giving a presentation to the community on Tuesday night, a discussion of their culture, global warming, etc. We will also be having a feast, featuring all the wild game. So we are sort of getting the agenda set for the next four days.

We’ve also been meeting with some of the hunters and some of the dog sledders here about the route up to Pond Inlet. And also the possibility of traveling from Pond to Clyde, a community on the east side of Baffin Island, but I think it is going to be the end of the season by the time we get to Pond. But we are gathering information at any rate.

The weather is good outside, it got up to about 30 degrees. Clear weather. It would have been a good travel day, but is is also a good day to be in town.
