Today was a day of meetings with the team. We decided on our route for our next destination, which is Pond Inlet. We got a lot of route information from dog sledders and snowmobilers that have traveled that way. There is still some discussion about whether we are going to go past Pond Inlet. Myself, I think that by the time we get up there the spring thaw will catch us. But we will know more in about two weeks.

A reporter came in from American Radio Works, with NPR, who is doing a story on abrupt climate change. He arrived about five o’clock this evening, so the next couple of days I will be walking around with him. Dan Grossman is his name, and I will be introducing him to the elders, discussing global climate change with them and the community.

So the next few days I will be sipping tea and talking with a lot of people here. Tomorrow evening they are going to be putting on a feast and a ceremony for us here at the community hall. We will be here for another three days, Once we leave, on Thursday, we decided to travel at night, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. This is because of the warming conditions during the day.
