Spring Has Arrived In Iglulik

Another day of interviews with the elders and talking with a local scientist. We had a meeting with the school officials today, and a school talk and a community talk. A really full day, starting about 8 a.m. and went on until 10 at night. And we’ve got another full day of meetings and gatherings. It’s been a great time here in Iglulik.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous outside, I think it got up to 36 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a record high so far this year. There are puddles in the streets and kids playing in the puddles, so spring is here.

We will be leaving Thursday night for sure, and we’ve got to make some tracks before the spring thaw catches us.
