Trans-Antarctic Expedition '89-90 In March 1990, Will Steger completed what no man had ever before attempted: the crossing of Antarctica on foot. Lured by the challenge and beauty of Earth's last great wilderness, and determined to focus the world's attention on the frozen continent now that its ecological future hangs in the balance, Steger and his International Trans-Antartica Team had performed an extraordinary feat of endurance.
International Arctic Project '95 The 1995 International Arctic Project expedition, lead by Steger was the first surface crossing of the Arctic Ocean in a single season. The adventure took them 2,500 miles by dogsled and canoe-sled from Russia to Canada via the North Pole. .

Steger's vision for the IAP was to inspire and teach children about the environment.

Steger Mukluks

Steger Mukluks"My team members and I have worn Steger Mukluks on all of my Arctic and Antarctic Expeditions and Training Expeditions since 1987. There is nothing that can compare to the warmth, comfort and rugged durability of Steger Mukluks. Steger Mukluks are made entirely in Ely, Minnesota! It doesn't get better than that!" - Will Steger

Wild Things

WildThings"Over the last 20 years I have worn Wild Things outerwear on all of my Polar Expeditions. Marie "Titoune" is the best designer in the outdoor industry. Her one piece suits, insulated parkas and Denali parkas have keep my team members and I alive in the worst cold weather conditions on the planet. We have worn this clothing in both Polar Regions, Greenland and the Arctic for durations up to 7 months and it kept us warm and snug. We have never had a case of frostbite using Marie's systems and designs. I am proud to have worked with Marie and her designers over the years and their hard work (and patience) have been instrumental in our success and safety." - Will Steger
